I can now say it’s official:

OutOftheBlackBox Theatre Company is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization!

If you’ve donated items to us before this, they’re good to go as tax deductible donations now!

Yippee!!!!

So, what’s next?

Well, after R&G closes we’re taking a break. We’ve got plans for two workshops in the winter/spring of 2008 followed by a mainstage production in the summer of 2008. We’re not sure what that will be, just yet, but be sure to watch this space for announcements, coming soon!

Running time: Approximately 35 minutes total for all 9 scripts.

Caution: Some plays contain adult language and themes not suitable for children.

ACTORS/TECHNICIANS NEEDED for both “365 Days/365 Plays” & “Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead”

365 Days/365 Plays (week 46):

We are still in need of 2 men, ages 18-50 (including roles “George Plimpton” and “John Ritter”), and 1-2 women ages 18 on up. One woman should be able to do a ballerina split (if possible).

Performance: 9/28 at 7pm & 9pm at the New Deal Cafe, Greenbelt, MD.

Rehearsals in either Greenbelt or Bowie at private residences starting either just before or just after Labor Day, depending on cast schedules.

See plays from 9/24 through 9/30, inclusive, plus 3 constants (front of script book) for reference.

Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead:

Needed: “Hamlet” (age no more than late 20s, please)

Also needed: lighting designer/board op, assistant stage manager, props master/mistress, costume designer/wardrobe.

Rehearsals already in progress. Performances are last three weekends in October (8 in all, no first Sunday matinée) at St. James Episcopal Church in Historic Old Bowie, MD.

Both events are nonpaid volunteer community theatre productions. Company membership ($12/year) required.

AUDITION: 365 Days / 365 Plays – 8/12-13, 2007

Hi!

This is your official heads’ up that we’re holding open auditions for our week (September 24-30), on Sunday, August 12 from 3-6pm and Monday, August 13 from 7-10pm at St. James Episcopal Church in Historic Old Bowie, MD.

Casting 3 women and 4 men, teens on up/any ethnicity, for ensemble work on 9-10 very short scripts.

Two performances are scheduled for Friday, September 28 at 7pm and 9pm at the New Deal Cafe, Greenbelt, MD.

Please prepare a short comedy monologue and also be prepared to read from the script. Copies of Suzan-Lori Parks’ scripts are available through Barnes & Noble, Borders and online at Amazon.com, amongst others.
